TRUE FAMILY FISHING STORIES

A couple went on vacation to a fishing resort in the north. The husband liked to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife liked to read.

Around noon, the husband returned after several hours of fishing and proceeded to take took a nap.

Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decided to take the boat out herself so she could read in peace away from the snoring. She motored out a short distance, anchored, and started to read her book.

Along came a law enforcement officer in his boat. He pulled up alongside the woman and said, "Good morning, ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replied, thinking it rather obvious.

"You're in a restricted fishing area!" the officer informed her forcefully. His wife never let him have any power at home so this was his big chance to display his manhood.

"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing; I'm reading."

"Yes, but you have all the equipment necessary, even if it doesn't work, so I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," countered the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you!" cried the officer.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment necessary...even if it doesn't work."

The officer replied, "Have a nice day, ma'am."

MORAL: Don't mess with a woman who reads. She may also be able to think.

YOUR SUNDAY SMILE:
THE WORTH OF CRUMPLED SOULS

A BYU professor started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. To the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

"Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air.

Then he said, "My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who do love you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what position we attain or by who we know, but by who we are inside.

You are special - don't ever forget it. Count your blessings more than your problems and affirm your value in prayer to your higher power daily. And speaking of life - remember: amateurs built the ark but professionals built the Titanic."

A little game of Cat and Moose?

Lemon Bet

A local bar in Ottawa was so sure that its bartender was the strongest man around that they offered a standing $1000 bet.

One day a scrawny little man came into the bar, wearing thick glasses and a polyester suit, and said in a tiny squeaky voice, "I'd like to try the bet."

After the laughter had died down, the bartender said okay, grabbed a lemon, and squeezed away. when he ad drained every last drop of juice out of the poor lemon, he handed the wrinkled remains of the rind to the little man.

But the crowd's laughter turned to total silence as the man clenched his fist around the lemon and six more drops fell into the glass.

As the crowd cheered, the bartender paid the $1000, and asked the little man "What do you do for a living? Are you a lumberjack, a weight-lifter, or what?"

The man replied...

"I work for Revenue Canada."
